Sanctus International School was proud to serve as the venue sponsor for the regional stage of the Hailun International Music & Arts Competition (HIMAC), held on 9 May 2026. The event brought together talented young musicians from across the region, providing them with a prestigious platform to showcase their skills, gain valuable performance experience, and celebrate their passion for the arts.
The competition was made even more special for our school community as two Sanctus students earned recognition for their outstanding performances. Alayna Tan (Year 3) and Mun Chloe (Year 5) were both awarded Silver Awards, reflecting their dedication, perseverance, and growing musical abilities. Their achievements stand as a testament to the value of nurturing creativity and confidence from an early age.
Adding to the significance of the occasion, Sanctus International School’s own music educator, Ms Eng Liew Yan, was invited to serve on the panel of judges. Her involvement highlights the calibre of expertise within our teaching community and our continued commitment to supporting excellence in music education.

Building Pathways for Young Artists
At Sanctus International School, we believe that education extends beyond academic achievement. The arts play a vital role in developing creativity, discipline, resilience, and self-expression—qualities that benefit students throughout their lives.
By serving as the regional venue sponsor for HIMAC, we aim to bridge the gap between school-level talent and the broader national and international performing arts landscape. This vision mirrors the important work undertaken by organisations such as The Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre (klpac), which has long championed artistic development and community engagement through the performing arts.
Hosting events of this calibre allows students to experience professional performance environments while exposing them to the standards and expectations of the wider music industry. Today’s music landscape offers diverse pathways that extend beyond traditional performance careers. From contemporary music production and sound engineering to music business and digital media, institutions such as the Malaysian Institute of Art (MIA) continue to demonstrate the breadth of opportunities available to aspiring musicians. By welcoming competitions like HIMAC to our campus, Sanctus International School reinforces its role as a launchpad where students can explore their talents, develop their confidence, and begin envisioning their future in the arts.
Celebrating Excellence Through the Arts
We congratulate Mun Chloe and Alayna Tan on their achievements and extend our appreciation to Ms Eng Liew Yan for her contribution to the competition as a judge. We are also grateful to HIMAC and Hailun Piano International for the opportunity to host this inspiring event.
As we continue to create meaningful opportunities for our students, Sanctus International School remains committed to fostering an environment where academic excellence, creativity, and artistic expression can flourish together.
