Counsellor

Role Description

Sanctus International School is seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Counsellor to join our team. The School Counsellor will play a vital role in supporting the emotional, social, and academic well-being of our students, working closely with teachers, families, and school leaders to ensure every child feels safe, understood, and empowered to succeed.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide counselling support to students across different age groups, helping them navigate personal, social, and academic challenges.
  • Develop and implement programmes to promote mental health, resilience, and positive school culture.
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support students’ overall development and well-being.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold professional ethical standards.
  • Refer students to external services when necessary and coordinate follow-up care.


Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Counselling, or a related field
  • Must have completed a counselling or psychology internship (preferably in a school or clinical setting)
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to work with children, teens, and families
  • Emotionally mature, empathetic, and non-judgmental
  • Strong sense of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Fluency in English (other languages is a plus)
